Community Announcement ~ December 2023
Some of you may have received a message from the president of the Citizens Association of Georgetown, regarding “a group that is not affiliated with CAG has announced and is soliciting donations for a new program, using the name ‘Trees for Georgetown.’ ”
We, the undersigned, residents of Georgetown and your neighbors, are that group.
We, the undersigned, are Trees for Georgetown and have been since its founding some 34 years ago.
We, the undersigned, coined the name, we designed the logo, we solicited and received funds from many of you and over the years we have worked with private contractors and arborists, with the DC Urban Forestry Division and with Casey Trees to carry out our mission to maintain the tree canopy on the residential streets of Georgetown. We have received more than one award for our work.
We are incorporated as a Domestic Non-Profit and have registered Trees for Georgetown as our Trade Name with the DC Government. We are the rightful owners of this name and will continue to fulfill its purpose.
Our Community Announcement has been met with great enthusiasm and we look forward to your continued support and participation in helping us to carry out our mission.
If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to Trees for Georgetown, please make out a check to:
“Casey Trees” and write “Trees for Georgetown” in the memo line.
The check should be sent to:
Casey Trees, 3030 12th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20017.
If you have any questions, would like to be added to our email list or would like to join our group of volunteers and become active in TFG please contact us at:
