Amelia Island, Florida’s ‘Concours d’Elegance’ Cruises into Town

Dubbed “a motoring event like no other,” Amelia Island, Florida’s “Concours d’Elegance” allows guests to get an up-close look at hundreds of vehicles you won’t see anywhere else.

2024 honoree Rick Hendrick, 14-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion, will be showcasing a special dispay from his collection. There’s also an all-time high of 1980s and ‘90s vehicles with live ‘80s music to add to the day.

Noteworthy events during the February 29 through March 3 weekend include:

  • The Annual Porsche Winemaker’s Dinner presented by Porsche Cars NA and Far Niente (reservations required).
  • A “Ride & Drive” where guests can get behind the wheel of a luxury car and cruise around the area.
  • A silent auction featuring a collection of unique and rare film, TV, and automotive and motorsports-related items.

Founded in 1996 by Jacksonville native Bill Warner, the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island PR team reached out to Warner, a former automotive photographer, journalist, and driver. They hoped to find a champion to build an automotive event on their grounds. While Warner didn’t consider himself a “concours guy,” he did agree to help as long as the event gave back to the community. The event’s economic impact to Florida is close to $30 million every year. A portion of proceeds have gone to charities like Shop with Cops, Spina Bifida of Jacksonville, and Community Hospice and Palliative Care.
