The Diplomats of Dance Society hosted a Lunar New Year Celebration featuring Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company at the Arts Club of Washington on Feb. 10. The large gathering of dance fans filled the historic space, which lent itself well to an afternoon of Asian food, libations, Year of the Dragon-themed decor, and live modern dance.
Members of DTSBDC danced excerpts from works performed during the company’s ground-breaking Smithsonian residency at the National Portrait Gallery, as well as their recent Kennedy Center show.
The Diplomats of Dance Society organizes regular soirées in support of DTSBDC’s international touring. An upcoming tour with the State Department is being planned.
The dance company will perform the critically acclaimed “We Choose to Go to the Moon” at the Baltimore Museum of Art on March 7 and an evening-length premiere at the Kennedy Center’s Family Theater on April 17.
THE BEST!!! We are so lucky Dana and troupe are based in DC!
