See The Emmet Cohen Trio at The Strathmore
American pianist and composer Emmet Cohen will be appearing at The Strathmore for a show Friday evening. He is the leader of the Emmet Cohen Trio and the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards. The second concert of their 2023-2024 season, the Congressional Chorus will be presenting “We Do,” a concert that explores and celebrates love’s power and universality. Don’t Miss CAG and The Alliance for New Music-Theatre’s Preview of Voices of Zion’s DC Emancipation & The Vote
The Citizens Association of Georgetown’s Living in History Committee, along with the Alliance for New Music-Theatre will be presenting a preview of selections from DC Emancipation & The Vote. The preview is part of a work currently in development by D.C. composer Ronald “Trey” Walton. Walton created an original music score using melodies that were found in hymnals in the Mount Zion Church historical archives. Georgetown University professor and choreographer Dr. Anita Gonzalez, Georgetown University professor and choreographer, used period dance for the production as well. Kick Off Spring with the Pink Tie Party
Get ready for the official kickoff to spring with the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s Pink Tie Party. This year, the fun begins at 7 p.m. at Union Station.
