Washington’s annual nerd prom — the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner and its attendant parties before and after — saw a bit of revival this weekend. Some of the usual players, some new ambassadors, the usual media companies and a few new entries (Meta’s AI applications) were on the scene.
The venues and restaurants were working overtime — the standards, Washington Hilton and Cafe Milano, and newbies, La Grande Boucherie and the Swiss residence tent.
Besides Joe and Jill Biden, the couple of the weekend about town were comedian Colin Jost and actress Scarlett Johansson. The New York couple dined at Cafe Milano on Friday. Jost’s jokes were good, but he seemed off his timing — and that big room of journalists did not help.
Here are some photos from the long weekend to get started. Please pass along your own, if you’d like, to editorial@georgetowner.com. Feel free to comment, too. Thanks.
