CAG Concert Packs Rose Park — With Kids

The Citizens Association of Georgetown hosted its biannual Concerts in the Park on Sunday, May 19, at Rose Park. Based on food vendor sales, there were an estimated 300 residents of all ages, especially young families, who came out for this neighborhood favorite event.

“At our concert series, you can visibly see the diversity of ages in Georgetown’s demographics, and CAG is the hub that brings us all together,” expressed Brittany Sawyer, CAG’s Executive Director.

The clouds parted and the sun came out as lively New Orleans tunes from the rockin’ Little Red and The Renegades band filled the atmosphere as residents packed the park. CAG volunteers handed out bubble wands to the kids as long lines formed at the ice cream truck. St. Johns Preschool kept the children entertained with a bookmaking activity. El Jefe Wood Fire Pizza was baking pizzas until they sold out and King of Pops popsicles sold out too.

The concert series was sponsored by Nancy Taylor Bubes and the NTB Group with Washington Fine Properties, who handed out popcorn to all the attendees.

This event was organized by CAG’s Events and Programming Committee and Event Volunteer Lead Jessica Dillion Bieligk. To learn more about CAG and its volunteer committees, visit www.cagtown.org.
