The third time proved a charm for the supportive guests who came together for the Watson family RalRosa Foundation’s Third Annual Rum & Rose event held at the former residence of Marjorie Merriweather Post, the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens, on June 22. Despite triple digit temperatures, guests remained cool in the Visitor’s Center Conservatory with the soothing sounds of steel pan music wafting in the background, sipping tropical libations, and nibbling on tasty Caribbean bites.
This year featured a Rum Tasting Corner sponsored by Maison Ferrand/Planetary Rums, local partners of National Rums of Jamaica. The former patriarch of the Watson family, Keith Watson, was one of the founding members of NRJ and served as the CFO before he retired in 1994.
The Holy Cross Health Foundation in Silver Spring, Maryland, recipient of donations from the RalRosa Foundation since its inception two years ago, co-sponsored this years’ event. Proceeds will once again support the HCH Foundation community clinics in our area and the Golden Spring Health Centre, in St. Andrew, Jamaica. Including current contributions, TRF will have donated $60,000 since its inception just three years ago.
