Middleburg, Virginia is once again hosting the popular Miglia Race now through Sunday. The event is steeped in history in Italy, and represents sport, culture and a sense of community.
On Friday, take in a head-to-head race that features a precision timing event where cars go at slow speeds to complete a segment in 15 seconds. The winners take home the Middleburg Cup. Afterwards, there will be a street festival with barbecue, drinks and Miglia merch. The fun begins at 4:30 p.m.
Saturday morning, see the cars and wish them well as they dart off to the Italian Embassy on Whitehaven Street in D.C. Finally, there will be a finish line celebration at 5 p.m. at Middleburg Town Hall to welcome drivers back as they conclude their race.
The 1000 Miglia represents boldness and an innovative and pioneering spirit which has allowed the race and its brand (Red Arrow) to be unique and iconic. The 1000 Miglia Srl is a company owned by Automobile Club of Brescia, which has been organizing the 1000 Miglia race since 2012. The race has been the most important regularity race for historic cars in the world.
