Gala Raises Funds for MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Pediatric Programs, GU Dept. of Pediatrics

On October 29, “Designed for Children—An Evening at The Renwick,” raised awareness and funding for the research efforts of the Department of Pediatrics at Georgetown University as well as pediatric programs at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

The event was at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery and included a conversation between Department of Pediatrics Chair Michael J. Donnelly, M.D. and Phyllis Magrab, Ph.D., a longtime Georgetown pediatric psychologist. The discussion talked about current initiatives in pediatric health. The event also included a fashion show with outfits created by students at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design.

The honorary host was His Excellency Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, who was also the Embassy of the State of Qatar’s patron sponsor.
