Book Hill’s Tree Lighting Is Tomorrow

Tomorrow evening, Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 7 p.m., don’t miss the second annual Book Hill Tree Lighting. This community event, held in Book Hill Park at 1681 Wisconsin Ave. NW, will include caroling at 6 p.m., holiday remarks, a countdown, more caroling and the opportunity for photos at the tree.

Don’t forget to shop Book Hill small businesses like the Washington Printmakers Gallery and Fountain Inn too.

The event will be hosted by Georgetown Main Street, with special thanks to Friends of Book Hill Park. Martin’s Tavern is Georgetown Main Street’s 2025 Potomac Sponsor, and the primary donors for the tree that the community will be lighting.

“Last year we were so fortunate to have tremendous support from the neighborhood which allowed us to purchase a great big tree we can use for years to come,” said Rachel Shank, executive director of Georgetown Main Street. “The holiday season is marked by joy and friendship, and we are glad to bring those sentiments to the community with this event.”

Shank hopes to see neighbors young and old tomorrow night at 6 p.m. around the tree.

GMS would also like to recognize the Georgetown BID for their support of the event.

Dress warmly, as the weather will be a festive 37 degrees (with a wind chill of 31!) at 6 p.m.

More information on the event can be found here.

Happy holidays, Georgetown!
