10 Things to Do in Georgetown this Holiday Season


If you’re in town this holiday and have some time off, now is the perfect time to enjoy Georgetown. From ice skating at Washington Harbour to live jazz at Blues Alley and much more, here are 10 options for festive fun in Georgetown.

  1. Go ice skating at Washington Harbour –

    The Washington Harbour ice skating rink is the largest in the city and boasts a fun fact: it’s bigger than Rockefeller Center’s rink. Skating is open now through the winter and if you go at night, it’s decorated with light-up snowflakes and twinkling lights. Hours vary.

  2. Have a staycation at The Poppy Georgetown Guesthouse and Gardens

    Georgetown Main Street kicked off the season with its second annual Book Hill Tree Lighting earlier this month. Don’t forget to stop by the tree in Book Hill Park for a selfie before it’s gone for the season!

     

  4. See “A Disco Christmas” at Tudor Place –

    Currently on view at Tudor Place for just three more days, A Disco Christmas allows guests to explore Tudor Place decorated for a 1970s disco Christmas party. Advanced registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

     

  5. Toast the New Year at Martin’s Tavern

    Why not celebrate the new year with one of Martin’s cozy cocktails like DC espresso martini, hot toddy, or black walnut Manhattan? Paired with one of the historic tavern’s tasty comfort foods like a crab cake sandwich or French onion soup, it’s the perfect way to warm up on a cold winter day too.
