On a sunny, warm day, music and laughter filled the air at the Citizens Association of Georgetown’s (CAG) Fall Concert in Rose Park on Sunday, Oct. 5. This family-friendly event brings neighbors of all ages in the Georgetown community together.
“This event is a neighborhood favorite,” said Brittany Sawyer, Executive Director of the Citizens Association of Georgetown. “The volunteers and neighbors are what make this event special, and we are grateful to everyone who makes this event possible.”
Residents spread out picnic blankets and enjoyed refreshments from food vendors El Jefe Woodfire Pizza, Alejandro Tacos, King of Pops, and Yala Ice Cream. For the children, St. John’s Preschool had a craft table, and CAG gave away bubble wands. Ricky Ricardo Events provided a pop-up photo booth. The Texas Horns brought people to their feet to dance to nostalgic tunes. There was also moment of tribute to our service men and women.
CAG took a moment to recognize outstanding Block Captain Ramona Green, who actively advocates for a safe and clean Georgetown.
“Block Captains serve as ambassadors for on their blocks, creating a line of communication and a sense of community around safety issues that impact us all,” expressed CAG public safety committee co-chair Mark Martinkov.
While Georgetown has one of the most active block captain programs in the District, CAG is continually recruiting volunteers to serve. If you are interested in learning out more about CAG’s Public Safety Block Captain program, please contact the Block Captain Chair at blockcaptainchair@cagtown.org.
A special thank you to event volunteer lead Jessica Bieligk and Nancy Taylor Bubes with the NTB Group at Washington Fine Properties for sponsoring this event!
