Those Against Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) Re-election Bid Get Louder
Political strategist Donna Brazile and D.C. Councilmember Robert White (D-At Large) are getting more vocal about requesting Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), 88, not seek another term in office. White, who is a former legislative aide for Norton and ran for mayor at one time, has launched a bid for Norton’s seat. Local voters have questioned why he wouldn’t stay focused on D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s seat instead. White’s response? He believes that moving to Congress makes the most sense currently, given the current situation. He told The Washington Informer: “We’ve had the military turned on us, people being snatched in our city, and constant threats about the federal government taking over D.C.”

Congressman from PA Defends Getting Rid of D.C. Traffic Cameras
Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) told WUSA-9 recently that he has been tracking the D.C. camera system through his time in Congress, saying cameras are not for public safety, but for revenue generation instead. Perry has brought legislation to the table that targets D.C.’s nearly 600 automated traffic enforcement cameras. It also puts new city restrictions on right turns on red traffic signals. The cameras have made over $100 million in revenue over the last six months, with over 80 percent of tickets given to drivers from out-of-state.

Teen Pleads Guilty in DOGE Staffer Attack That Resulted in National Guard Deployment
A former DOGE service staffer Edward Coristine (also known as “Big Balls” online) was carjacked and beaten last month by a 15-year-old boy. That teenager has pled guilty to the attack, which caught the eye of President Donald Trump, subsequently resulting in the National Guard deployment and federal law enforcement in D.C. The boy also pled guilty to another robbery that took place nearby the original carjacking on Swann Street NW. Another 15-year-old girl also faces charges.

Trump and Epstein Statues Removed from National Mall

WUSA-9 YouTube screen grab.

Statues that showed President Donald Trump shaking hands with his former friend Jeffrey Epstein, both their feet popped in jubilation, have been removed by the National Park Service and U.S. Park Police. The art is the latest in a series that has been placed on the Mall by a group of anonymous artists. The statues were able to stay up until 8 p.m. on September 28 after the group got a permit from the National Park Service. According to The Washington Post, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said the organization that installed the statues was “wasting their money.”
