Rose Park’s Unique Taste of the Town Party

The Friends of Rose Park celebrated their annual gala at the penthouse residence of Alan and Nancy Taylor Bubes on Sept. 25 — and took it to another level.
How? By providing a panoramic view of the Potomac? By offering a vibrant sunset after a drizzly day? By providing the feeling of being up in the air with a bird’s eye view?
Yes, yes, there’s all that. But it was the Taste of the Town set up that surprised the guests. On hand were 1310 Kitchen & Bar, Andy’s Pizza, Apero, Housebar, Martin’s Tavern, The Poppy Georgetown, Say Cheese and Tony & Joe’s. Eight stations … impressive.
The happy crowd, young and old, milled about the patios, bars, pool and fire pit, enjoying conversations — and the great selection of food.
Gail Daubert, President of the Friends of Rose Park, thanked park supporters and noted home values are higher when you live next to a park. Daubert added that Rose Park’s list of upcoming improvements included state-of-the-art trash containers that are priced around $5,000 each.
The evening raised more than $35,000, The NTB Group was the main sponsor.
