The Georgetowner at 70 Years

We’re so excited for 2024. Of course, there’s the eager anticipation of a new calendar year, along with the excitement we all feel in anticipation of a fresh start and new experiences this time of year. For us at The Georgetowner, we’re ecstatic to share that we’re now in our 70th year of publication. That’s right, since 1954, we’ve served our neighborhood community and the nation’s capital as “the newspaper whose influence far exceeds its size,” as Pierre Cardin once said.

If you’d like to know more about us, or want to explore why we’ve been around for all these decades, read on.

The Georgetowner in Print

The Georgetowner prints monthly, typically on the second Wednesday of each month. Our issue topics vary, but we tend to focus heavily on the arts, real estate, food and wine, travel, and of course the most important part of being a hyperlocal publication the neighborhood that surrounds us: Georgetown!

We offer print advertising options for these issues, and you can find more about those by visiting our 2024 Media Kit here, or on the tab on the bottom left of our website’s homepage.

The Georgetowner’s E-Newsletters

We have a popular (and growing!) supplement to our print issues. Twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays, we publish and send an online newsletter to our growing list of subscribers. Between 3-5:00 p.m. those days, our subscribers (approximately 7,000 and counting) receive a newsletter with around 5-7 stories. On Mondays, we bring you breaking news, along with real estate and our popular Mapping Georgetown local history series. Thursdays include our Weekend Roundup, culture, lifestyle, arts, food and wine stories.

We also offer banner ads for these newsletters. Information and pricing on those can be found in our Media Kit as well.
