2nd Annual Black Greek Festival Weekend

July 21, 2022 @ 8:00 am - July 24, 2022 @ 5:00 pm EDT

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, May 11, 2022—After an incredible inaugural year that attracted thousands of attendees to descend on the nation’s capital, The Black Greek Festival will host “The 2nd Annual Black Greek Festival Weekend” in Washington, D.C. on July 21st-24th, 2022, featuring a fun-filled weekend with various events with hosts such as BET’S Swag Inc’s TravQue, nationally syndicated radio host  DJ Quicksilva and more. Based upon the mission of “Divine Nine” organizations, Black Greek Festival serves as an engaging environment designed to foster Greek unity in our nation’s capital. It offers a unique hybrid experience of in-person and virtual events for mission-driven professionals. The weekend festival will focus on the concerns of the African-American and Greater Washington community: support for homeless populations and Black-owned businesses. In 2021, the organization proudly raised over $300,000 for the local economy by intentionally working with Black, minority, and women-owned vendors and enterprises. On July 16, 2022, Black Greek Fest Foundation (Black Greek Festival’s philanthropic nonprofit arm) will host a festival weekend lead-up Day of Service event focused on serving people experiencing homelessness in partnership with DMV Does Good, Commissioner Salim Adofo, and the Mayor’s Office of the Clean City.

The 2nd Annual Black Greek Festival weekend is powered by Cricket Wireless, Maker’s Mark, Grow with Google, Miss Jessie’s Originals, DTLR, DC Now Events, Destination DC, The Jollof Festival, and Tequila With Friends. The weekend also includes a career summit & panel discussion, and an inaugural in-person step show. The two outdoor events (July 23rd and July 24th, respectively), “Black Greek Festival” and “Brunch Olympics,” will be located in D.C. and will highlight 35+ Black-owned businesses and drive to support D.C.’s local economy. Throughout the weekend, Black Greek Festival will expose more than 5,000 D.C. residents and visitors to Black-owned companies in the area focused on food, artwork, entrepreneurship, and clothing.

The Black Greek Festival: All tickets (priced between $25-and $100) will be available exclusively on Universe. The event will occur at The Gateway DC Pavilion on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Purchase your tickets: HERE
