A Soldier’s Journey: First Illumination

On September 13, 2024, at 7:15 p.m. ET, The World War I Centennial Commission and The Doughboy Foundation will unveil “A Soldier’s Journey,” a 58.5-foot long bronze sculptural wall, years in the making, the centerpiece of the National World War I Memorial on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. This historic event will mark the completion of the last war memorial of the 20th century in our nation’s capital.

The live-streamed ceremony is open to the public with a special public viewing area featuring a large screen at the adjacent Freedom Plaza, 1325 Pennsylvania Ave., NW. To witness this historic event in person or via livestream, please register here: https://worldwar1centennial.org/
