This powerful and contemporary production is reset in today’s war-torn Middle East. John Tipton’s acclaimed translation showcases the plight of today’s US soldier with raw vitality and deep compassion. The US conflicts overseas are examined with powerful insight and surprising revelations. Armed conflicts have been a constant throughout history: from Troy, the American Revolution and WWII to Iraq, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Greece’s Trojan War has themes and lessons that are hauntingly similar to that of our wars in the Middle East. Scena Theatre takes a harsh look at the cost of war on our service members, the effects of PTSD, and the lessons we fail to learn after thousands of years.
