The Georgetown Heritage Board of Directors, and co-chairs Heather Muir Johnson and Brooke Stroud, invite you to join us, along with our partners from the National Park Service, the District of Columbia, and the Georgetown BID, in commemorating the arrival of our new canal boat.
Enjoy live music, cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres with your friends and neighbors, while touring the new boat and participating in the christening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. This is sure to be an occasion you won’t want to miss!
Public Boat Tours Public Canal boat tours begin this Friday for the first time in more than a decade! Come aboard for the one-hour guided historical tour along the first mile of the Canal, and learn about its fascinating history, technology and culture – and the surprising stories of the people who lived, worked and played here over the past two centuries. Visit the Georgetown Heritage website (georgetownheritage.org/boat) to book your tickets, with tours available several days a week through October.
