The Beltway Brawl V is a charity boxing event on September 19th, and it is hosted by the 501 (c)(3) organization Haymakers for Hope. The co-founders, Julie Anne Kelly and Andrew Myerson, competed in the 2009 NYC Golden Gloves. Urban Boxing DC has two fighters participating: Colie Daniels and Quinn Reiley. Urban Boxing DC is run by the third-ranked featherweight boxer in the world who is fighting in Madison Square Garden later this month.
Haymakers for Hope has raised over $25,000,000 for cancer charities since 2011. $374,345.46 has been raised from The Beltway Brawl V so far, with only 15 days to go! Any benefiting charity has to be a cancer-focused organization, or the boxer can direct their fundraising toward one of Haymaker’s primary beneficiaries. One planned program for cancer survivors is a non-contact boxing training course sponsored by Haymakers.
