Breaking News: Alexander Hamilton & Greetings From Washington
Drawing on the vast history of Washington D.C., two complementary exhibitions will look at how one man played a role in bringing the U.S. capital where it is and how visitors remembered and shared their visit to the nation’s capital. ‘Breaking News: Alexander Hamilton’ will feature historical newspapers from a private collection that highlight important life events and accomplishments of founding father Alexander Hamilton. A second exhibition, ‘Greetings from Washington,’ showcases over a century of postcards of Washington, D.C., including examples from what some consider to be the golden age of postcards at the turn of the 20th century, and eye-catching examples from today.
