Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Glen Echo Park as a part of the National Park System

October 10, 2020 @ 8:00 am - November 15, 2020 @ 5:00 pm UTC+0

Free

Glen Echo Park has been part of the National Park System for fifty years! The exhibit Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Glen Echo Park as a part of the National Park System in the Park View Gallery will tell the story of the effort to protect land near the Potomac river from development in the 1960’s. Learn how the park was acquired by the federal government and how it found its direction as an art park. The exhibit will include never before exhibited photographs of the early years of the art program and of the carousel before and after its restoration. Glen Echo Park has been a great service to the community and the community has helped shape the park. Come see the exhibit and learn the story. For your health and safety, access to the exhibit will comply with CDC and local health guidelines due to
COVID 19, which currently requires wearing face coverings in the gallery and a limit on the number of visitors at one time.
