Community Wide Holocaust Observance in Northern Virginia

Reflect upon Hate Speech & the Holocaust with remarks by published Holocaust survivor Susan Warsinger and readings from internationally renowned Holocaust survivors from our region – Charlene Schiff and Herman Taube. ADL’s Doron Ezickson & Dr. Marc Gopin will present thoughts on the rise in anti-Semitism and intolerance today and actions to address it.

With over 20 art and artifact exhibits; interactive teen programs; survivor testimony; original readings, dance, and music; along with JCRC’s ceremonial intergenerational candle lighting and Pledge of Remembrance.

Organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington and more than 100 partner organizations, synagogues, and houses of worship. JCRC is the government and public affairs arm for the local Jewish community serving over 300,000 individuals in Jewish households. Founded in 1938 in response to dire circumstances for the Jewish community worldwide, JCRC remains dedicated to Holocaust education and commemoration throughout the year, reviewing school curricula, promoting events and local government commemorations, and organizing Holocaust survivors to speak to over 2,000 students and adults each year.
