Join us for an introductory presentation on Dorothea Lange: Seeing People by exhibition curator Philip Brookman. Brookman is consulting curator in the National Gallery’s department of photographs, and former chief curator, head of research, and senior curator of photography and media arts at the Corcoran Gallery of Art (1993–2014). A signing of the exhibition catalog follows in the East Building Concourse Shop.

The exhibition reframes Lange’s work through the lens of portraiture, highlighting her unique ability to discover and reveal the character and resilience of those she photographed.
