For the first time in decades, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – a historically intimidating and challenging application, particularly for first generation college students – has been updated to increase access to student aid and make the application process easier.
To support students and families through the new process, Capital One is hosting a series of workshops at its D.C. Anacostia Café in partnership with the National College Attainment Network (NCAN). During the events, NCAN volunteers will help students walk through the process, answer questions and discuss the recent changes to the application. NCAN will provide laptops as needed, along with snacks and beverages. The workshops will be hosted from 9am-1pm on January 27, February 24 and March 23.
