ADA Partner WANDA Shares the story of creating a diabetes-free legacy at the Ferebee Hope Family Literacy Festival
Join us for the Ferebee Hope Family Literacy Festival hosted by The Bookshelf Project, Inc. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Ferebee Hope Recreation Center, 700 Yuma Street, SE. Dive into a day celebrating the transformative power of literacy, family bonding, and community unity.
What’s Special?
Local author Tambra Raye Stevenson of WANDA: Women Advancing Nutrition, Dietetics, and Agriculture will be distributing copies of her book, Little WANDA Finds a Cure for her Nana, an enlightening tale about a girl using her African foods to aid her Nana’s diabetes. Moreover, WANDA will facilitate a workshop on nutritious eating, introducing their partnership initiative with the American Diabetes Association, Project Power, a no-cost program aimed at community members aspiring to improve their health against diabetes available this Fall and Winter.
