Join us for a 30-minute meditation lead by yoga instructor and artist Aparna Sadananda, surrounding by paintings by Mark Rothko. Free and open to all, no meditation experience required.
This event is offered in conjunction with the Mark Rothko: Paintings on Paper exhibition.
Aparna Sadananda is a yoga teacher (E-RYT 200 and RPYT) with experience teaching yoga and meditation in the studio, private and corporate settings in Washington, DC. She currently leads meditation classes and family-based mindfulness workshops for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art and the Phillips Collection. A visual artist in Indian folk art, she holds a Ph.D., in cellular neuroscience, from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India, in 2013.
