Guild51 Gallery | Brocha Silvestre Artist Talk on Wildlife Artivism & Street Art

May 10 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT
Free

In this artist talk, Brocha Silvestre shares what he learned about our bio-diverse world during his time living in Bolivia and how this influenced his artistic practices and inspired his current works in Jaguar Moon. Brocha Silvestre, the moniker for Mariano Arrien-Gomez, is a muralist, illustrator, and artivist, who gravitates towards street art as a form of communication about the importance of wildlife and environmental conservation. Originally from D.C., he has spent most of the last decade in Bolivia learning from biologists and researchers about one of the most bio-diverse places on earth. After partnering with many conservationist organizations and projects, he has adopted the Jaguar (Panthera onca) as his muse.During this discussion, Brocha Silvestre will demonstrate some of his painting practices. Linger afterwards to meet fellow art lovers and to explore the exhibit.
