Mount Helicon, the Greek poet Hesiod tells us, was the holy site of sacred springs and the home of the Muses, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. They were the Greek goddesses of artistic inspiration, adored deities of song, dance, and memory on whose mercy the creativity, wisdom and insight of all artists depended. With Helicon’s Winter Solstice, that creativity becomes a truly joyful affair that promises to shed a new light on familiar Christmas carols in Dumbarton’s intimate setting.
