Illegal to be You: Gay History Beyond Stonewall

June 24, 2021 @ 8:00 am - July 6, 2021 @ 5:00 pm UTC+0

Last day to view: July 6
Second Floor, Center

In June 1969, LGBTQ+ community members resisted a police raid at the Stonewall Inn, a bar in lower Manhattan. The museum marked this 50th anniversary with a display featuring objects from its collections that put the history of that memorable event within a larger and longer experience of being gay. For more information on the exhibition, visit https://americanhistory.si.edu/illegal-to-be-you.
