Join us for the return of our popular “Take 5! Jazz at SAAM” program. Beat the heat and relax in the Kogod Courtyard. Kicking off our program series is Washington, D.C. native, artist Max Light received his bachelor’s degree at New England Conservatory and his master’s degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He won second place in the 2019 Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Guitar Competition and released his debut trio recording “Herplusme” the following year. In March of 2022, he released the album Songs We Love in collaboration with tenor saxophonist Noah Preminger. Light has performed at the legendary Wally’s Jazz Café and served as an artist-in-residence at Hotel 7132 in Vals, Switzerland.
