Landmark Lecture: Archaeology of a Possible Enslaved Home Space

April 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Members: FREE | Non-Members: FREE

Hear about the discovery of the location of a possible enslaved home space in the orchard at Tudor Place. Kerri Barile Tambs of Dovetail Cultural Resource Group walks us through an archaeological survey in 2010 that uncovered a curious cluster of artifacts in the North Garden. Return visits in 2013 and 2022 suggested a former multiuse structure dating from the first half of the 19th century! Come and learn how archaeology plays a part in helping to tell the full story of life at Tudor Place.

K Barile of Dovetail Resource Dr. Barile Tambs is the President and Principal Investigator of Dovetail Cultural Resource Group. She has 30 years experience in the fields of cultural resource management, archaeology, architectural history, historic research and public outreach and was awarded the 2020 Enterprising Woman of the Year award by Enterprising Woman Magazine.
