Lineage: Poems of Margaret Walker

Commissioned by the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, Edward W. Hardy’s new song cycle “BORN FREE” will be premiered by acclaimed soprano Tiffany Townsend, pianist Alex Munger and the composer on violin. This song cycle is based on four poems by Margaret Walker and will explore themes of family, home, and self. This concert will feature Filene artist Cory McGee performing excerpts from H. Leslie Adams’ “Nightsongs” and “Home”.
