Love Letters to Our Bodies is a FREE Workshop on June 24 & 25 for Black Women journeying with cancer. We will be exploring the mind/body/spirit connection and how women relate to their bodies pre- and post-diagnosis. The workshop is led by Moyo Institute, Inc., in collaboration with with the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts in Washington, DC and Charlotte Maxwell Clinic for Integrative Cancer Care in Oakland.
We are pleased to be joined by Erin “Bionic” Brown, Para triathlete from The Bahamas, who did not let an above the knee amputation, as a result of bone cancer (Osteosarcoma), stop her from pursuing her dreams. Erin is the first Black and differently abled woman to be named Godmother for Royal Caribbean International Odyssey of the Seas; a historical maritime tradition. We also will hear from Dee Manuel Cloud, Breast Cancer Recovery Strategist and Speaker. She is the author of ”Beauty in the Breakdown: Finding Peace in the Midst of Life’s Disruptions.”
