Macy’s Fights Hunger
March 6 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm UTC+0
Macy’s 2021 Bag Hunger campaign will support more than 300 hunger relief organizations across the country to work toward alleviating hunger in local communities.
Beginning Monday, March 1 through Wednesday, March 31, Macy’s invites customers to help fight hunger in their local communities with the opportunity to round up their in-store purchase to the nearest dollar (up to $.99) and donate the difference to their store’s selected local hunger relief organization.
While Macy’s campaign against hunger is national, its impacts are local. In the greater Washington, D.C. area community, Macy’s Bag Hunger initiative will benefit the below organizations:
- Arlington Food Assistance Center
- Empact Ministries Food Bank
- Food & Friends Inc.
- Food For Others
- Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank
- Meals on Wheels COVID Response Fund
- Mid-County United Ministries
In an added effort to fight hunger during this critical time, customers can also donate online at macys.com to support the Meals on Wheels of America COVID-19 Response Fund to help provide meals and wellness checks to vulnerable seniors.
In 2020, Macy’s raised more than $7 million for food relief through its support of local food banks nationwide and the Meals on Wheels of America COVID-19 Response Fund.
WHEN: March 1–31, 2021
MORE: Feeding America estimates that 17 million people in the country could become food insecure because of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total to more than 54 million people in the country, including 18 million children.
Since 1998, Macy’s Inc., colleagues and customers have donated tens of millions of dollars, providing hundreds of millions of meals. Macy’s Bag Hunger campaign supports local hunger relief organizations, soup kitchens and other organizations that care for our communities every day. Visit macys.com/macysgives for more information.
