Description:
As much as this summer, we all wanted to live in Barbie Land – where sexual violence isn’t in the dictionary – we definitely don’t want to live in a spooky world where sexual assault allegations make weekly headlines. We’re sick of the patriarchy, actress and humanitarian Ashley Judd is sick of it, and (we’re guessing here) you’re probably sick of it, too.
The Bonobo Sisterhood is a powerful call to action to create a collective self-defense against patriarchal violence. Together, we’ll journey through the matriarchal world of bonobos, where sexual violence has been eliminated, and discuss its connection to the empowering narratives of the #MeToo movement and current political activism.
Join actress Ashley Judd for an evening of solidarity and brilliance from some of the incredible women fighting for a future where women are safe and empowered. Hear from Harvard Law gender violence expert Diane Rosenfeld, National Women’s Law Center CEO Fatima Goss Graves, TIME Woman of the Year, Amanda Nguyen, and more on Tuesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. ET.
