Marie Cassat discovered that chalk pastels can transfer well to damp paper by using pressure.
Nina Muys has embraced this method where the richness of the chalk pastels combined with transparent medium can result in an exciting print. This method also can be done without a press.

Nina Muys is an experienced teacher of 34 years and has been a printmaker for 40 years. She has had numerous solo shows and is in many national and international collections, including the Library of Congress. Ms. Muys is a founding member of the Washington Printmakers Gallery.
