Tetra Printing with Nina Muys

Tetrapak takes recycling to a new level. The plate is the inner part of a chicken stock or orange juice carton. It is easily engraved with a variety of tools and is very responsive to cross hatched lines. The “plate” is wiped like an intaglio plate, the lines are inked and the surface cleaned with tarlatan and newspaper. With a damp piece of paper the plate is run through the press and a print is produced!
The plate can be cut into shapes, textures can be added and color added with watercolor. Many possibilities for a creative mind.
Students should bring an empty milk or juice carton, an apron and gloves.
