Textless Journals: Where did your journey take you? With Karen La Du

A trip to an exotic port of call or a special party, your adventures are worth more than a smartphone photo file.

Join Karen La Du in this workshop that combines collage, printmaking, drawing, watercolor, and whatever other media makes you smile to create a hand-made book of memories.

2pm -5pm One Day Workshop

Ages 18 and up

Up to 6 participants

Cost: $100

Some supplies will be available, but you will of course need your personal paper momentos.

I will bring a glue gun

SUPPLY SUGGESTIONS:

Plain paper for journal pages, any kind that will hold up to page turning

Tape of many kinds, double stick tape, glue stick, other adhesive of your choice.

Colored papers, magazine pages, photos, postcards, ticket stubs, maps, menus, any paper that you accumulate on your trip or from your event including, clean candy wrappers, paper bags with store logos, price tags, you get the idea!

Small set of watercolors, brushes, crayons, markers, whatever media you want to add details or create backgrounds with

String, embroidery thread/yarn and needles, wire, round head paper fasteners to bind pages with Bits of fabric, felt, pressed flowers.

These are suggestions, I do not know what memories you are looking to preserve so let your imagination run wild!

You might finish or this might just be your start for an ongoing project.
