The Apollo Orchestra will perform with Metropolitan Opera luminaries Elizabeth Bishop, mezzo soprano, and Barry Banks, tenor on November 3 at 7:30pm. Admission is free. The program will open with Symphony Number 38, “Prague” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This symphony remains one of Mozart’s most interesting and popular symphonies due to its richness of contrapuntal and harmonic exploration. Elizabeth Bishop and Barry Banks will then join the orchestra to perform Gustav Mahler’s most intimate and personal work: the glorious and sweeping Das Lied von der Erde “The Song of the Earth.” For more information visit www.apolloorchestra.com.
