The Handel and Haydn Society is the oldest continually performing arts organization in America (1815), yet its approach to Baroque and Classical music is refreshingly vibrant and alive. Virtuosos in period instrument performance, the musicians of H+H are dedicated to playing great masterworks with all the immediacy they had when they were first written, connecting as directly as possible with the composer. In their Georgetown Concert Series debut, H+H’s concertmaster Aisslinn Nosky and principals Susanna Ogata (violin), Guy Fishman (cello), and Ian Watson (harpsichord) will present a program of sparkling, virtuoso solo and trio sonatas by Corelli, Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel. They will be joined by H+H star soprano Margot Rood singing stunning Italian cantatas by Handel and Vivaldi. Join us for an evening of masterful, stirring performances. This is as authentic as it gets!
