The Last Battlefront: Quest for the Vote in Washington, D.C.

September 16 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm EDT
free

The Last Battlefront, a one-hour non-partisan documentary film, looks at the history of Washington, D.C. to understand the District’s struggles to restore citizens’ basic rights of self-government.

Washington, D.C. is one of the only capitals in the world
where its citizens have no representation in the national
legislature and where Congress and federal authorities
routinely intrude on the local government of the District.

The Last Battlefront: Quest for the Vote in Washington,
D.C., a one-hour non-partisan documentary film, looks at
four turning points in the history of Washington, D.C. to
understand how this happened and the struggles of the
District’s residents to restore their basic rights of
self-government that other Americans enjoy.

A post-screening discussion offering insights into the
struggle for voting rights and self-government for the
citizens of Washington, D.C. will be held immediately
after the film.
