Two exhibits will be on display at the historic Westminster Hall & Burying Ground, just steps from Poe’s final resting place. Both are included in one ticket:
Poe in Comics (NEW in 2023!)
Immerse yourself in the chilling world of Edgar Allan Poe through the hauntingly beautiful medium of comics! Witness his tales of horror and suspense brought to life with eerie illustrations and haunting dialogue that will make your heart race and your blood run cold. Discover rare and collectible editions of Poe’s work, as well as new interpretations from talented contemporary artists who have put their own unique spin on his classic tales.
This exhibit will explore over a century of comic art & illustration featuring the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe. You’ll be amazed at the range and creativity of the comics on display as the dark and mysterious side of Poe’s genius is brought to life. The exhibit includes both live guide and interactive audio/mobile app.
The Poe Death Exhibit
An interactive art installation at the historic Westminster Hall & Burying Ground, where Poe’s body and casket will lie in state in a re-enactment of the dark and somber day Poe was laid to rest. Tour the various conspiracies that plague Poe’s legacy and learn how the very clothes he wore offer clues to his mysterious death. Pay your respects at a special candle-light vigil for the master of horror and mystery.
NOTE: Death and funeral imagery (including body in an open casket), may not be suitable for young children. Viewer discretion advised. This exhibit takes place at location away from Festival Grounds; limited street parking and garage parking is available. This is a ticketed event; timed entry guarantees admission.
