Urbanspace Tysons Officially Reopens With
Brand New Vendors on March 22Empanadas de Mendoza, London Chippy, Hedzole, and more bring worldly flavors to the food hall located at Tysons Galleria
McLean, VA, (March 3, 2022) – Urbanspace, the leading food hall and marketplace curator, is officially reopening its Tysons Galleria location on Thursday, March 10 with brand new unique vendors including Empanadas de Mendoza, London Chippy, Hedzole, and more, offering a wide variety of international flavors by budding entrepreneurs all under one roof.
Throughout the pandemic, two of Urbanspace Tyson’s original concepts and the greater Washington DC area’s most beloved culinary offerings, Andy’s Pizza and Donburi, have continued to flourish.
Andy’s Pizza, the winner of the 2021 World Pizza Championship and many other awards, is one of Urbanspace Tyson’s original vendors and serves renowned pizza with dough made from scratch, partnered with the best ingredients in the country.
Donburi is the ultimate Japanese comfort food serving up the highest quality seafood, meats and their signature flavor in salads, rice bowls and more.
Joining those two for the official reopening will be:
Twelve Twenty Coffee. Founded by former Urbanspace Tysons Assistant General Manager/Events Director Victoria Smith, Twelve Twenty Coffee offers premium pour-over coffee. Working at Urbanspace afforded Victoria a first-hand look at the benefit of running a small business in a food hall community. When the opportunity to open her own coffee spot arose, she jumped at it. Their Maple Lattes and Chicken Salad Sandwiches have quickly become fan-favorites. Victoria and her team also offer free one-hour Caffeinated Yoga classes on Saturdays in the Emerald Lounge through the end of March.
Empanadas de Mendoza. Gabriela and Tyler Steelman, a husband-and-wife duo, serve handmade, cooked to order, baked or deep-fried Argentinian empanadas. Gabriela, a Mendoza, Argentina native, began selling her empanadas at farmers markets in 2013. Their flavors include items like spicy beef, honey barbecue pork, pineapple chicken, spinach ricotta, and more. Urbanspace Tysons is their second location.
London Chippy. After a successful food truck operation, London Chippy is opening its first permanent brick and mortar space at Urbanspace Tysons. British-born Chef Anthony Robinson serves traditional fish and chips, their signature Crabby Fries, and more.
Hedzole. This West African concept by Candice Mensah is inspired by her mom’s cooking. Candice developed a following at local farmers markets during the pandemic and is thrilled to share items like Red Red, chili-like blackeyed peas served with sweet plantains, with Urbanspace Tysons guests. To start, Hedzole will be a weekend-only pop up through June.
In addition to these new vendors opening this month, Urbanspace Tysons will welcome Hei Hei Tiger later this spring. Hei Hei Tiger briefly soft opened in February 2020. The menu features a playful selection of Cantonese dishes including Chinese BBQ from the Tiger Fork team, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient. They will also be operating the bar. At least three additional vendors will open by June.
Urbanspace Tysons is located on the third level of Tysons Galleria in Northern VA and will open more concepts in the coming months. Guests are welcome to visit the food hall Tuesday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starting April 11, the food hall will also be open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Mondays.
