von ammon co Partners with Artist Jacob Kassay for New Exhibit
Following the overwhelming positive reception of von ammon co’s debut exhibit in Cady’s Alley with artist Tabor Robak, New York-based art curator Todd Von Ammon will partner with painter, sculptor and filmmaker Jacob Kassay to debut his first-ever gallery show in Washington, D.C., and von ammon co’s second groundbreaking exhibit in Cady’s Alley, X.
Marking the ten-year anniversary of his career, X will be a celebratory series of Kassay’s concentration on sight and spatiality across a series of for-sale canvases electroplated in silver. Individually installed on interior concrete columns, X will use an electric eye to relay the movement of a single candle’s flame to an overhead light installation. The complex surfaces of the opaque, silver metallic and mirror-like works will absorb and redistribute the newly augmented light, documenting the behavior of light and air to create a fleeting record of the space.
von ammon co will celebrate the launch of X with a private opening reception on Saturday, June 22, from 6:00-8:00 pm. The show runs through Saturday, August 31.
