The purpose of meditation is to improve our peace of mind. Each week our drop-in simply meditate classes introduce different topics ranging from improving our mindfulness and reducing stress to becoming more compassionate and wise. These meditations are suitable for all levels of experience. Each class will consist of some basic breathing meditation, a short teaching teaching followed by another guided meditation based on the topic of the class.

GUIDED MEDITATION
Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind, let go of distractions and cultivate inner peace.
TEACHING
Gen Demo will then give a practical teaching based on the topic of the class series and explain how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.
CONCLUDING MEDITATION
The class concludes with a guided meditation to help us mix our mind with the teaching and take it to heart. There is also an opportunity to ask questions.
Gen Kelsang Demo is the Midwestern US National Spiritual Director and the Resident Teacher here at Kadampa Meditation Center Washington DC. She has been a student and disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years and has been teaching for over 20 years.
