“Who Did It? An Improvised Murder Mystery” is a comedy in which audience members help solve a murder! At the start, the show’s host invites attendees to contribute items they brought, such as lip gloss or snacks, as evidence for a murder scene. Then, two detectives examine the crime scene and begin interviewing suspects, improvising jokes along the way. Because every performance features unique evidence and improvised dialog, each showing is a one-time-only event.
The cast of “Who Did It?” includes professional improv performers and teachers associated with Washington Improv Theater and Rails Comedy. Erick Acuña is the show’s lead creator and one of its detectives. His one-person show “Acuña Acuna” won Best of Fringe and Best Solo Show at the 2019 Capital Fringe Festival, and it has since entertained sold-out crowds across the US and in the UK.
This production is part of the 2023 Capital Fringe Festival, a program of the Washington, DC non-profit Capital Fringe.
