Women’s History Month: Bountiful Baskets

March 16 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

Visit the National Museum of the American Indian and learn about the art of basketweaving from Indigenous women as they share the beauty of Native basketry and the significance of keeping this tradition alive through the different weaving traditions, materials, and stories and inspirations that go into making a basket. Join us and hear directly from Corine Pearce (Redwood Valley Little River Band of Pomo), Ronni-leigh Goeman (Onondaga), Iva Honyestewa (Hopi/Navajo), and Laura Wong-Whitebear (Colville).

Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, 10 AM–5 PM

This project received support from the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative Pool, administered by the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum.
