Police Seek Suspect in P St. Armed Robbery; Stabbing on 30th St.

•On Tuesday, Aug. 18, around 9:30 p.m., there was a robbery at gunpoint in the 3000 block of P Street NW. The suspect was armed with a silver handgun, according to the Metropolitan Police Department and the Citizens Association of Georgetown.
The following from MPD provides more details on the robbery:
V-1 reports on the listed date, time that he was standing at the steps in front of the listed location when he was approached by S-1. S-1 presented a silver handgun and stated: “Give me your phone and wallet or I’ll shoot you” V-1 complied and gave the listed items to S-1. S-1 then gave V-1 his wallet back. S-1 then fled the scene running westbound on the 3000 block of P Street NW.
The description of the person involved is as follows. Top: White Shirt; Bottom: Black Pants; Age: 20-30; Build: Medium; Race: Black; Sex: Male; Other details: 5’8″, 150 lbs.
The MPD’s Second District detectives are seeking to identify the suspect. A Be-On-the-Lookout Alert was issued to groups and businesses. The sheet shows a few blurry images of the suspect (a video may be available soon on MPD’s YouTube site). In another crime, MPD told The Georgetowner: “There was a stabbing in the 1100 block of 30th Street NW on Aug. 19 at approximately 3:30 a.m. An adult female was arrested for stabbing an adult male. She was placed under arrest. The male victim had a laceration and was transported to an area hospital.”
Added WTOP: A man was stabbed in the neck at Georgetown Suites Hotel early Wednesday morning. … At the scene, officers found a man suffering from a stab wound in his neck. They said the man was conscious and breathing. Police said the victim knew the suspect.”
Tuesday evening was also active with protesters, who disrupted outside diners at several eating establishments.
About 30 Black Lives Matter activists walked along the sidewalk in front of Martin’s Tavern at Wisconsin Avenue and N Street around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, banging pots and shouting, “Say his name,” to those eating at the restaurant. Patrons left their tables. At Tony & Joe’s Seafood Place at Washington Harbour, at K Street and the waterfront, about 100 BLM activists briefly disturbed patrons but were escorted off the retail complex, which is private property.
