Here are some recent local crime and Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reports:
Sept. 12 – Robbery Investigation: Currently underway for an incident on the 900 block of Barry Place NW. The suspect was identified as a 30-35 year-old black male wearing a du rag, black mask, red long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and driving a Grey Volvo C-30 SUV with a black lift gate.
Sept. 12 – Arrest: For an assault on a police officer at 1025 F St. NW.
Sept. 12 – Arrest: For an individual carrying an unregistered firearm at 1575 I St. NW.
Sept. 12 – Arrests: Two arrests were made on individuals carrying a firearm outside of home/business at 3518 Connecticut Ave. and 1330 19th St. NW.
Sept. 12 – Arrest: A simple assault arrest was made for an incident on 3001 Veazey Terrace NW.
Sept. 11 – Armed Robbery: reported at 5:00 a.m. on the 3000 block of M Street NW. Suspects described as four black males, all wearing black, armed with handguns. They were seen fleeing the scene in a white truck.
Sept. 11 – Arrest: A felony arrest was made for unlawful carrying of a firearm at 1111 19th St. NW.
Sept. 11 – Arrest: For destruction of property at 2101 E Street, NW.
Sept. 11 – Arrests: Two simple assault arrests were made at 4550 and 2915 Connecticut Ave. NW.
Sept. 10 – Homicide: MPD Detectives are investigating a homicide on 100 Kennedy St. NW. Officials found 31 year-old Delonte Hazel with fatal gunshot wounds inside a car.
Sept. 10 – Arrest: For second degree theft at 1155 F St. NW.
Sept. 10 – Egging: A victim standing outside Clyde’s restaurant, at 3236 M St. NW, was egged by an unidentified person passing by in a red sedan. The individual reporting the incident was unharmed.
Sept. 10 – Threat of Bodily Harm: reported on 824 New Hampshire Ave. NW.
Sept. 10 – Homicide: A homicide was reported at the 1400 block of 29th Street NW. At 11:30 a.m. MPD responded to reported gunshots and found an adult male, 39 year-old Anthony Kelley, with a gunshot wound displaying no signs consistent with life. No suspect(s) responsible for this crime have been found.
Sept. 9 – Burglary: A suspect is sought for a two-offense burglary on the 600 block of Pennsylvania Ave. NW. at 9:40 p.m. Suspect gained entry into an establishment and fled the scene after taking property. Surveillance camera photos can be seen here.
Sept. 9 – Burglary: MPD Detectives are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to a two-offense burglary on the 2700 block of Connecticut Ave. NW. Surveillance camera photos of the suspect can be seen here.
Sept. 9 – Arrest: In an assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) and robbery. The crime occurred at the intersection of Connecticut and R Streets NW where the suspect brandished a knife and snatched a cell phone then fled. Hours later the suspect committed two similar assaults at the 2800 block of M Street and the 1200 block of 22nd Street NW.
Sept. 8 – Theft: A student reported a theft of a-frames and signs at N and 37th Streets NW.
Sept. 8 – Arrest: For an assault on a police officer at 15th and I Streets NW.
Sept. 8 – Arrest: For unlawful entry at 1401 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
Sept. 8 – Arrest: For unlawful entry at 900 23rd St. NW.
Sept. 8 – Arrest: A sexual abuse arrest was made at 1801 Foxhall Rd. NW.
Sept. 8 – Theft: A bicycle theft was reported by a student at Prospect and 36th Streets NW.
Sept. 7 – Arrest: An arrest for leaving after colliding (property damage) was made at 1500 27th St. NW.
Sept. 7 – Arrest: A simple assault arrest was made at 2608 Connecticut Ave. NW.
Sept. 7 – Theft: A student reported someone entering the Georgetown University Observatory Building, at 3920 Yates Rd. NW, who stole a piece of a telescope. A suspect has not been identified.
